Entergy New Orleans, Inc. Integrated Resource Plan
Entergy New Orleans is committed to providing its customers with safe and reliable service at the lowest reasonable cost. Integrated resource planning is an important part of the process utilized to help achieve that goal. Integrated resource planning takes into account estimates of customers’ future energy needs and the resources available to serve those needs in order to develop a long-range plan to inform future planning activities. Because customers' needs and the world around us change over time, Entergy New Orleans periodically reviews and updates the IRP in order to ensure the IRP reflects those changes. For example, on September 1, 2015 Algiers became part of Entergy New Orleans’ electric service area, and is now included in Entergy New Orleans long term planning.
Entergy New Orleans conducts its IRP process consistent with all applicable regulatory requirements. Beginning in 2008, the Council for the City of New Orleans established guidelines for development and periodic review of Entergy New Orleans’ integrated resource plan. As part of the Council’s requirement to seek input on the development of each IRP, on June 5, 2014 Entergy New Orleans received approval for a plan to seek input from stakeholders in the development of the 2015 IRP. After over 20 months of analysis and stakeholder review and comment, on February 1, 2016 Entergy New Orleans filed the Company’s Final 2015 IRP with the City Council.
